To Know And Be Known

Students in the Lower School delve into a highly personalized, inquiry-based program under the tutelage of talented teachers who honor and cherish childhood. With contagious passion and meaningful incorporation of play into each lesson, Bush's Lower School faculty cultivate in each student a passion for discovery that carries them through their entire lives.

Our CEI Work - Community, Equity, and Inclusion

The four anchors that guide Lower School Community, Equity, and Inclusion (CEI) work - identity, diversity, social justice, and action - come from the Learning for Justice domains.

These anchors are implemented from Kindergarten to Fifth Grade in all of our subjects and may be seen through students sharing parts of their identity through curriculum connections, affinity groups or organic conversations during recess. Identity work is complex and ongoing; our hope is to build a toolbox for our students to explore similarities, differences, curiosities, and acts of justice.

To learn more about how our domains come alive in our classrooms, please refer to our curriculum overview.
