How to Apply

The Application for the 2026-2027 admissions cycle will open during the first week of September 2026.
 
The Bush School is a member of the Puget Sound Independent Schools (PSIS) admissions consortium, which helps streamline the application process by coordinating application timelines, deadlines, and requirements across member schools.
 
For the 2026–2027 admissions cycle, PSIS member schools will use a combination of Aryval Enroll, Ravenna, and other admissions platforms as the consortium transitions to a new common application platform, with schools adopting it on timelines that best fit their individual needs. As a result, families applying to multiple PSIS member schools may encounter multiple platforms. If you have previously applied to The Bush School or another PSIS member school, you may notice some changes this year. 
 
The Bush School now uses Aryval Enroll as its application platform. To learn more about what to expect while navigating multiple admissions platforms, please visit the PSIS website FAQs.
The application process is designed to allow the Bush admissions committee to learn more about each applicant as an individual and to this end, we expect that student application forms submitted to The Bush School are the original work of the applicant and reflect their own thoughts, experiences, and achievements. While applicants may use a variety of tools and resources for basic proofreading or formatting, we are eager to review application materials that authentically represent the applicant’s voice and personal journey without the support of AI tools or other outside help.

  • Saturday, November 14, 2026: Lower School Open House
  • Sunday, November 15, 2026: Upper School Open House
  • Thursday, January 14, 2027: Application deadline 
  • Thursday, January 14, 2027: Financial Aid Application deadline
  • Friday, February 19, 2027: Upper School admissions decisions released
  • Friday, March 19, 2027: Lower and Middle School admissions decisions released

Standardized Test Policy

Standardized testing is a required step of The Bush School application process for Fifth through Twelfth Grade applicants. 
 
Our test flexible policy allows applicants to submit any standardized test taken in the past two academic years (2026-2027 or 2025-2026). This includes state testing such as Smarter Balanced (SBA), MAP, CTP (ERB), STAR Assessments, Iowa Assessments, WIAT-IV, i-Ready, ISEE, or SSAT. There is no preference given to any particular test.

The Bush School SSAT and ISEE On-Site Testing Dates
 
The Bush School will host the ISSE and SSAT on campus to support access to the test for applicants to grades 5-12. Registration is available on the SSAT and ISEE websites.

SSAT (for students applying to grades Sixth through Twelfth)
  • Saturday, October 10, 2026
 
ISEE (for students applying to grades Fifth through Twelfth)
  • Saturday, October 24, 2026
 
For families applying to Bush, test fee waivers are available for the ISEE and SSAT. Families will be asked to submit financial information to the Office of Financial Aid to determine eligibility for receiving a waiver. Join Us for Admissions Events!

We offer a variety of in-person and virtual events from October to January during the admissions season to help your family learn about the Bush programs, community, and student and family experience. Event information and registration for all events is available via Aryval through the application. 

Please note: for certain events, the minimum application status of "started" or "applied" is required.
