2024-2025 New Lower School Faculty & Staff

We are pleased to welcome our new faculty and staff to the Bush Lower School community. Read below to learn more about this amazing group of educators. 

Caitlin Bicknell joins the Lower School as a Kindergarten Teacher. Most recently, Caitlin taught at Alta Vista School in San Francisco, California. Cailtin holds a BS in Psychology from San Francisco State University, and a MA., in Education from University of the Pacific.

Sam Doherty joins the Lower School as the Third Grade teaching assistant. Sam spent the last year working as a teaching assistant at Kiddie Academy. He has also spent time as an assistant and after school teacher at UCDS. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Andover.

Xutchille Edullantes joined The Bush School as the First Grade Lower School Assistant. Xutchille comes to Bush from Westwood High School as an Associate Teacher in Mesa, Arizona. 
 
Riley Madore joined The Bush School as the Second Grade Lower School Assistant. Riley has been a teaching assistant at the Bertschi School and comes with a background of Advertising from the University of Oregon.
 
Carl Prater joined the Bush School as the Second Grade Lower School Assistant. Carl has spent the last two years working with elementary students at the UCDS Residency program and has recently obtained his Masters in Early Childhood Education from the UCDS Graduate School.

Michele Shaffer joins the Lower School as a Fourth Grade Teacher. Most recently, Michele taught at Saint James School in Montgomery, Alabama. Michele graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio and holds a B.S. in Elementary and Special Education and an M.Ed. in Special Education with a focus in Gifted Education.
