Join Lower School PE Teacher Tami Hutchison for Cascade Orienteering Club: Choose Your Adventure: VAMPIRE O!

Parents and guardians! Another exciting and popular community event is on the horizon! Mark your calendars for: 
Cascade Orienteering Club: Choose Your Adventure: VAMPIRE O! 
  • Event: Vampire O! (Part of the Choose Your Adventure Series) and a fun intro to Orienteering 
    *Please note that this event is not affiliated with The Bush School
  • Date: Saturday, October 19 
  • Location: Robinswood Park, Bellevue  
 
  • Time: Dusk and beyond (about 1 hour)  
    5:30pm – Registration & Instruction Opens  
    6:30pm – Registration & Instruction Closes 
    6:45pm – Rules Review! 
    7:00pm – MASS START! 
    7:02pm – Vampires Start! 
    8:00pm – Finish & Course Closure 
  • Details: 
  • A family-friendly event combining beginner orienteering skills with flashlight tag. 
  • 24 checkpoints to find in any order using a map and flashlight. 
  • “Vampires” are a few groups assigned at the start with red flashlights (instead of control cards). The vampire taggers try to shine their red light on you and "steal" your progress card. If tagged, your group becomes the vampire group and your group will try to steal another group’s control card.  
  • Tutorial: A basic orienteering tutorial is available before the race for newcomers. 
  • Wear layers! Bring a flashlight or headlamp! Tami will be there to assist and will join one of the groups. Before the start Bush students will gather for a team photo!
