Middle School English Faculty Kirsten Sundberg Lunstrum Publishes New Short Story Collection

"The stories collected in Outer Stars are about parenthood and marriage, grief and aging, ecological anxiety and love of home. They are very rooted to the Pacific Northwest--a landscape I find endlessly inspiring. Though writing them took me the better part of the last decade, as an English teacher I find that my work in the classroom is enriched when I'm able to make time for my own writing practice too. When my students are struggling with a piece of writing or excited about a new creative project, I'm right there with them, in the process myself! It's lovely when the process results in a finished product, and I'm so honored that this one also now bears the name of the great Katherine Anne Porter, whose fiction I have admired since I first encountered her stories as an undergrad." - Bush Middle School English Faculty Kirsten Sundberg Lunstrum
