We’ll explore adolescent wellness holistically, with practical strategies for strengthening executive functioning, navigating Canvas, building mental health skills, and supporting students’ overall well-being. The evening will also offer guidance on building strong, collaborative partnerships between school and home to help students thrive.
Resilience: Skill Building and Perspectives (Webinar)

As part of this year’s school-wide focus on resilience, this event will explore how we can help students build the skills they need to navigate challenges and thrive. We’ll look at emerging research on adolescent resilience, with practical strategies for strengthening problem-solving and interpersonal skills while considering resilience through a trauma-informed lens.
Gender and the Internet (Webinar)

As young people navigate an increasingly digital world, this event will explore current trends, research, and data on how gender is presented and shaped on the internet. We’ll examine practical ways to engage adolescents in conversations about media literacy and gender online, while helping them recognize bias, think critically about what they encounter, and navigate digital spaces safely. The event will offer tips on supporting students in developing the skills and awareness they need to be responsible, thoughtful digital citizens.
Sex Ed At Home (Webinar)

What does meaningful, ongoing conversation about sexual health and development look like during the middle school years? This event will offer an overview of the Bush Middle School sex education curriculum, along with practical conversation starters and strategies for navigating awkward questions and more challenging topics at home. We’ll consider how to make these conversations an ongoing part of family life rather than a single “big talk,” creating space for young people to ask questions and develop a healthy understanding of safety, values, relationships, and health.
Summer Skills: Sleep, Boundaries, and More! (Webinar)

Summer offers a chance for Middle School students to recharge, reconnect, and put the skills they’ve built throughout the year into practice. In this closing parent education session, we’ll explore adolescent sleep and healthy routines, strategies for setting boundaries and building healthy relationships, and ways to manage stress during the transition out of school.
