On Saturday, March 14, we’re lacing up, showing up, and cheering each other on at Celebrate Bush: Home Team Heroes - our annual K-12 celebration and the school’s largest fundraising event in support of financial aid.
This is a night that celebrates the heart, resilience, and spirit our students bring into the classroom, onto the field, into the studio, and throughout our community every day.

Celebrate Bush is more than a great party; it’s a moment for our entire community to champion every student’s educational journey. Each contribution directly supports financial aid, helping ensure that Bush remains accessible to families across Seattle. When we show up for this event, we’re showing up for one another - and especially for our students.
We are also excited to share that Bush parent Joey Burgess is back for round two as this year’s event chair, bringing his signature community spirit to the arena once again. He is joined by fellow Bush parent Bryan Van Dusen, who will serve as co-chair, teaming up to help make this year’s celebration one to remember.

Elements of Bush: A Collaborative Art Collection. Lot #3: Common Ground
Common Ground is a vibrant architectural landscape composed of individual dwelling shapes painted by the K–12 community. Student artists created unique color-blocking and patterns using acrylic paint pens on each laser-cut form. The sweeping horizon of rooflines and windows demonstrates that no single structure dominates; instead, strength emerges through proximity, collaboration, and the courage to build community. This vibrant, horizontal piece invites a sense of belonging into your home, celebrating the village we build when we stand together. -
An Evening of Food, Fellowship, Conversation and Connection
Please join Head of School Sarah Smith and her spouse Katie Hester (who will be responsible for all of the delicious food that will be served while Sarah serves as the primary dishwasher for the evening) for a night of food, fellowship, conversation and connection at their home in Columbia City. A thoughtfully planned seasonal menu and creative cocktails/beverages of all kinds will be matched in quality only by the conversation and company we share. Each course of the meal will be accompanied by guided conversation and questions aimed at building stronger connections with and knowledge about one another and the world, just as we do in the classrooms every day at The Bush School.
